The Video Players meeting nights take place on the Medway Campus of Mid-Kent College, in Gillingham. For sat-nav purposes, use postcode ME7 1FN, which falls directly within the central building of the campus.

Security

Because we meet on a college campus, all non-college ID holders (i.e. not staff or students) must register with the main reception and wear the yellow lanyard and visitor pass provided. Areas of the college are security controlled with magnetic cards, built into the ID badges.

Please note that a yellow lanyard means that you must be accompanied anywhere within the college by another member who has a permanent college badge (staff or student). As a result, we tend to meet in the main reception for 7:30pm, so that we can travel as a group to the meeting room. If you are late, inform the reception desk when you sign in, who will then make arrangements to notify us.

In order to make the process simpler, all potential visitors to the club should contact us first - in this way we can pre-book you in as a visitor.

All ID badge holders (i.e. staff and students of Mid Kent College who are club members), should wear their ID badges at all times, as per a normal college day.

While the car-park is also ID card controlled, at the time of the evening meetings (7:30pm onwards) the car-park should be generally accessible to visitors.

Directions

From the Wainscott by-pass

Travel through the Medway (Vanguard) Tunnel from the direction of Wainscott (part of the A289 Wainscott by-pass) and immediately leave the A289 as you get to the end of the tunnel (note that the slip-road begins while still in the tunnel, so get into the correct lane early). Turn right at the roundabout towards Chatham, then go across the next roundabout, ignoring the turnings for the combined University Campus (to the left) and Historic Dockyard (to the right).

Travel up the hill towards Chatham. At the top of the hill, turn left at the roundabout towards Gillingham. At this point you may start to see signs to Mid Kent College.

At the first major set of traffic lights turn left onto the B2004, with the Royal Engineers Museum on your left hand side. The entrance to Mid Kent College Medway campus is about 250m along this road on the left hand side (note that entrance and exit are one way - select the second of the two roads when travelling from this direction).

From Chatham

Leave the Chatham one-way system as if heading towards Fort Amherst and the Historic Dockyard. At the first roundabout, cross the roundabout as if heading towards Gillingham (do not turn left, down the hill, towards the Dockyard and the Tunnel).

From Rainham

Travel along the A289 in the direction of the Medway (Vanguard) Tunnel until reaching the major road interconnection leading towards the Police Station (on the left) and the working Dockyard (on the right). Leave the A289 here and turn left, leaving the complex roundabout / U-Turn system of roads. At this point you may see signs towards the college campus.

At the immediate next set of traffic lights turn right and travel up the hill on the B2004. The college entrance is about 250m along this road on the right hand side. Note that the entrance/exit to the college is one way - travelling from this direction, the correct entrance is the first of the two roads.

From Gillingham

Leave Gillingham heading towards Chatham and the Historic Dockyard. At the major set of traffic lights next to the Black Lion Leisure centre (on the right hand side of the road), turn right into the B2004, now placing the Royal Engineers Museum on your left hand side. The entrance to Mid Kent College Medway campus is about 250m along this road on the left hand side (note that entrance and exit are one way - select the second of the two roads when travelling from this direction).
